On May 25, my dad, mom, sister, my dad workmates and I took a four days geology field trip to the western part of Texas to look for Dinosaur bones and other fossils. We left our house on Friday morning at 8:30am and slowly arrived in Post Texas at 7pm, indeed it was a very long ride, I have not taking such a long road trip since 2002 when I drove with my tennis coach and my team mate from Liberia to Wineba Sport College in Ghana, through Ivory coast. In 2002 the Liberia National Tennis Team drove from Liberia through Ivory coast to Ghana and Togo to participate in West and Central Africa 14 and under tennis championship. May 26, 2008, on a cloudy Saturday morning we took off to visit the first fossils site at UlazyS Ranch in Post Texas. At the site we found lots of fossils and Indian artifice, at 1pm on that same day, with a temperature at 95 degree during noon time we took off to visit the second site, which was also part of the UlazyS Ranch. We managed to climb the double breakfast table rock to see the mastery rock. On the third day of the trip, we visited the Palo Duro canyon, and saw a historical site of Charles Goodnight, where he had settled with 1600 cattle somewhere around 100 years ago. After few hours of touring the Palo Duro canyon, we stop at Seymore Texas to rest for the night at Best Western Hotel. On Monday morning May 26,2008, with a nice temperature at 75 degree we drove at Lake Kamp and spend a couple of minutes looking for fossils, fortunately for us one of our member, Mr.Frank , found a leaf fossil. The Liberia Tennis Team when by road, because the finance minister (Dr.Nathaniel Ban), who had promised to provide tickets and allowances for the team ; was dismissed from his position by President Charles G. Taylor at 8:30 pm, the same day he had promise to give us a check the next morning, nevertheless every disappointment is a blessing. At 12 pm on a sunny and windy Monday afternoon, we took a long drive to visit a dinosaur site at Glen Rose park. Upon our arrival at Glen Rose park we when down into the creek and saw a huge dinosaur foot print, we had great time touring the park and sitting on the rock in the creek and enjoying the coldness of the water below our feet. We left Glen Rose at 3:45 pm and make our last stop at a Star Buck's cafe in college station, and finally we got home at 9pm.
